Jerusalem, holy city

The city founded by David has become the focus of devotion, piety and symbolism for three religion, as well as the scene of conflict and confrontation. Few cities (let alone "holy" cities") have seen so many wars, so many conquests and so much bloodshed as the so called "city of peace". The true mystery of Jerusalem lies perhaps at the end of time rather than in its past.
